Allen’s Platform

A Vision for a Safer Pueblo

Establish a Traffic Division

Allen believes that the Sheriff’s Office needs a dedicated division to combat speeding, DUIs, and other dangerous behavior on the road, making Pueblo safer for everyone.

Permanent Sector Assignments

To build long-term trust and personal connection with residents and business owners, deputies will be assigned to specific neighborhoods.

Reviving the Gang Unit

Re-establishing a local Gang Unit to work directly with Pueblo Police will allow the Sheriff’s Office to focus on drug and gang cases here in our community, not just the Denver Metro area.

Restoring Order to the Office of Sheriff

Valuing Staff

As a long-time Union member, Allen knows that all employees should be treated with equal respect and supported by their union. He will end frivolous lawsuits against the Sheriff’s own deputies, and will support employees’ right to join a union (IBPO Local #837).

Work Release & Labor Crews

Allen is dedicated to bringing back work release for non-violent offenders, allowing them to service our families and contribute to our community.

Mental Health Partnerships

The co-responder model, where law enforcement works alongside mental health professionals, is a proven success in our community. As Sheriff, Allen will work to establish partnerships with mental health professionals to accompany deputies on critical calls, saving lives and giving Puebloans the support they deserve.

Advanced Training

In order to best serve our community, deputies should receive specialized training which teaches them trusted methods to handle mental health calls and substance abuse crises in a way that saves lives and protects people.
